What to expect for 2026:
Welcome to the seventh edition of the Cable Bay Enduro. This year we wil be changing things up while still maintaining some of what we have done in the past.
We are once again stoked to have Village Cycles and Specialized NZ on board as naming sponsors.

Cable Bay Enduro 2026 Categories
Riders MUST be at least 14 years old to compete in the Cable Bay Enduro without caregiver support. If a rider who is under 14 wishes to compete they MUST first contact the organisers and have an adult ride with them during the event. One adult may accompany up to 3 children and although it is preferred that they are also racing, this will not be compulsory. There will be a small fee to cover shuttles for non racing adults.
The age considered for this race is from 31st December 2026 to align with the NZ Enduro Series.
All categories include: (as at 31st December 2026)
Under 15 - For Riders aged 14 (at the end of the year) Men/Women - (this will include any riders under 14).
Under 17 - For Riders aged between 15 - 16 Men/Women
Under 19 non UCI - For Riders aged between 17 - 18 Men/Women
Open - For Riders aged between 19- 29 Men/Women
Masters 1 - For Riders aged between 30 - 39 Men/Women
Masters 2 - For Riders aged between 40 - 49 Men/Women
Masters 3 - For Riders aged 50+ Men/Women
Masters 4- For Riders aged 60+ Men/Women
Non-binary - all ages
E-Bike Men/Women
All riders will be allocated New Zealand Enduro Series points .
Event Schedule:
Friday 28th February:
Shuttled practice day between 8am & 5pm.
Saturday 1st March:
Race day- expect a big day of racing
Prize giving
Party and celebration- plan to stay on site if you can. There may be a bus service running back into Nelson City around midnight. This is TBC.
Sunday 2nd March:
Full day of shuttles - 10am-4pm - no schedule & ride what you wish.
Approx. finish 4pm
Withdrawal Policy
If you need to withdraw for any reason, you are able to receive a 50% refund up until 5pm Monday 9th February 2026. After this date, no refunds will be given.
Entries close Monday 16th February at 5pm.
Transfer of entry
You are able to transfer your entry to another participant up until 5pm Monday 16th February . To complete this please use the contact us.
Event cancellation
The course may be altered if we were to experience any extreme weather or if deemed necessary for safety.
If we were to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances we aim to refund a portion of your entry fee, exactly how much will be situation dependent.
We are stoked to be involved with the New Zealand Enduro Series, running from November 2025 through to April 2026.
The Cable Bay Enduro 2026 will feature as race 5 of the New Zealand Enduro Series.
All riders who race the 2026 Cable Bay Enduro will receive points towards the New Zealand Enduro Series.
2026 RACE RULES
Enduro World Cup rule book
The 2026 Cable Bay Enduro will follow the UCI Enduro World Cup Rulebook and Mountain Bike New Zealand technical regulations. This is to support riders with future events. Some rules will be modified to suit this year’s Cable Bay Enduro. (these will be outlined at the briefing)
Safety equipment and bikes:
Riders are responsible for making sure that their bikes are up to standard for racing.
Riders must complete the race using the same bike.
Full face helmets and knee pads are compulsory during all race stages.
E-Bikes
Must be unmodified from purchase.
Rules around using multiple batteries (to be confirmed).
Liaisons:
Transfers from one race stage to another are not timed. However, there will be a time limit allocated for completing the day, which will be given during the race briefing.
Course:
Competitors must complete the course in its entirety, without leaving the marked trail and without taking any shortcuts.
